Are you the “Boy”?

“Doing an outreach program like Mouse & Cookie is a lot of fun, but a lot of work. With just Toni and I in the cast and Kevin to run the show, that leaves it up to the three of us to load in the sets and put them up and take them down; this is a lot of work. With all the effort and time that goes into a program like this you have to wonder if you made a lasting impression or have you already been eclipsed by this mornings cartoons.

Well Monday night we were swimming as a family at the South Jordan Rec Center when two young girls (probably about 10 yrs old) approached me and asked if I was an actor. I said yes and their eyes got big and excited. They told me that I had come to their school and played the Boy in Mouse & Cookie. They told me how much they liked it and then swam away.

Now it was cool to be recognized, but it was gratifying to think that all that effort made a lasting impression.

Side Note: I really appreciate the help of those who have helped us move in and out! I want to give special props to Chris Merrill. ‘Love you man’.”

-Grant Thomas is currently playing “Boy” in If you Give a Mouse a Cookie. He is also on SJCT’s Advisory Board.
